Im kind of new, Why do people prefer MAG Boxes over android? Just looking at specs, it seems like a cheap $30 chinese android box blows the Mag254 out of the water at a fraction of the cost.
Can anyone give me a quick 101? Which device is considered the best and why?
Cheap chinese boxes might have the specs but they can be glitchy and thats the last thing you want in an IPTV unit. Going android is fine, but buy a good quality box. Mag and Dreamlink offer a far more cable like experience with great guides, fast channel changes and simplicity.
I have been experimenting with different boxes. A $30 android box will frustrate you. I bought one and returned it. A $100 android box with 3GB ram or more is a better experience.
Benefits of android are using one sub on multiple boxes if set up correctly (stbemu). Mag is locked to one sub. Ability for other uses such as Netflix, Spotify etc is also a benefit.
Mag is a much better overall experience with the ability to record and timeshift. If iptv providers get sued out of existence then the box will be almost worthless.
