Has anyone bought a good "non IR" remote for the T1 box? Or maybe they are called USB remotes. Anyways, I am looking for something that is a bit more sturdy than the one that came with it and I don't have to point at the box. Most, if not all I have seen on Amazon seem like the remotes are designed exactly, button configuration wise at least, for the MAG boxes. Any help would be appreciated.
I can't speak for USB remotes, but the dreamlink t5 remote is one of the nicest remotes I've ever used in my life. Ever.
If you can get your hands on one you've got your hands on gold! They work will all dreamlink boxes.
If you really want to go non IR, check out the amazing rti remotes from rti corp. I have a couple of these for my home theatre and automation system.
It's likely if you're using iptv you may not be able to afford rti. They can be up to 5x more expensive than a Logitech remote. But check eBay for used ones. A new remote can exceed $1000 depending on the model. Worth every penny.
I just use an IR extender and keep my T1 hidden inside of a cabinet away from the TV.
