Ideal TV Sizes

by thebannedit

So I will be moving homes soon and get to buy a new TV (woop!). Pricewise im looking at 55" - 65" screens.

So far I've only used the same old 40" TV with my mag box. However, I vaguely recall reading that a lot of IPTV quality can get real shitty 60"+.

Is this true or I made it up in my own head? I know a lot is obviously down to providers, for example, I like to think the more recent FHD channels will be fine on 65" but I'm guessing really. Anyone else's experiences is appreciated. Thanks!

It'll depend on the quality of the TV you buy too tbh, if you buy a huge big cheap TV it'll probably look shitty.

Go for the sweet spot between the size you desire and budget you have. Go have a look at some in store and read reviews online :)

I used to have a 55" 1080p LED Samsung Tv that I loved. I have Dexter and everything looked great on it. They have a lot of 1080p sources. Not all with the best bitrate, but I have tried other providers and it looked solid on my 55" compared to the rest. It ended up breaking and I upgraded to a 65" 4K LED Samsung like less then a week ago. And I've been testing it with dexter too. And it's still solid, I thought it might look grainy or bad because of the 4K and the size difference. But i honestly see no difference in quality from my old tv and this one.

The further you sit from your TV the less you will notice. How far away is your couch?

I have a 65" plasma HD television and while some streams don't look great, the HD content from Epic and Vader looks awesome to me!

I have a 55" KU6300 and it looks amazing. Also about 4m away. I am sad that I didn't go 65" tho.

I have a 55" around 4m away looks nice, maybe a 65 of good quality would be better.
