Mag 256 firmware

by SirDiesel1803

My current firmware is 2.20.03-256

The iptv is very buffery and gets stuck in loops or doesn't work at all. Sometimes it is great.

It's not the net speed. Hardwired and 64.00 Mbps on the speed test.

It could be the provider but I've paid and will ask for my money back but if it's the firmware then that.

It's the stb iptv if that's any help. EDIT

New thought.

I've already got the line installed. I don't want to lose the money as I've got 6 boxes for family.

Im just throwing this our there. Is there an update that would turn the 256 into a 254 of a kind. So my line would work for a year until the 256 can handle the subscriptions?

I don't expect it will but if youse don'ts asks youse donts gets.

I tried to add this to other comments but I didn't know how to.

Cheers Good luck

I've got a 256 running the same version. Unfortunately there's no one answer to this. There are a number of possible reasons you are getting these issues:

  1. Distance between you and your providers server.
  2. The mag 256 is a relatively new device and may not be supported by your provider. Most providers can only support the 254.
  3. The 256 might not be able to handle some of the codecs in your providers streams.
  4. Given you say its sometimes great could mean the providers server is overloading at times.

I have a 256 and my stream is mostly junk, but I have a feeling it's my provider (express).

I turned off timeshift, and it seems better although it could be my imagination,

256 here as well and I find it very stable never had any of these problems I read about I have set up many 254 for people and the 256 is as stable as the 256 and also plays newer codecs sounds like supplier issues to me
