MAG254 Parental Control password issue - How to recover "forgotten" password or Hard Reset

I swear I don't remember ever changing the Parental Control password on my MAG254. I tried 0000 and 00000 and a bunch of other ones I've found on different forum posts but none work.

Can I somehow reset the password or if not, how do I perform a Hard Reset? I tried following some youtube videos that state I should hold the home button on the remote control while rebooting the device but it just keeps going into portal.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Try to hold the button with the lines on it while booting. Then reset it. I'm not sure if changing the band will do anything.

found out through the provider that the default password was 8888
