Should we be mentioning all the providers so openly?

by allanfarrell

I've only been on Reddit about 3 months, but have been using iptv/Google tv/Android TV streams for years.

In the short time I've been subscribed to a few subreddits I've come to see the openness of people (I'm guilty too) talking about how/who/where they get their subscription from.

Call me paranoid but I'm sure there are people on here purely fishing for info on who are the main providers on behalf of the legal cable providers so they can target them.

Thoughts?

Some of the providers are on here openly telling people how/who/where to get their service from so I'm sure they've taken precautions to protect themselves.

Maybe.

But...if someone wanted to catch a seller breaking the law they could just act like any one of us looking for a service. If it was impossible for them to find them then it'd also be impossible for an ordinary person to get a service.

I think some people protect themselves more than others. More and more resellers are going the way of bitcoin which allows them to talk a bit more freely.

There are still some resellers that are old school or, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, are somewhat "uneducated" when it comes to iptv.

There's a guy that I deal with locally and hes the nicest guy ever! He unfortunately though, is not tech savvy at all, and knows nothing about iptv so any tech support is limited.

Anyone can be a reseller, and I think we are seeing that more and more. These are usually the ones we see posting here, or using PayPal etc.

In a way though, this let's people who are new to iptv get their foot in the door as well. A lot of experienced or more underground providers/resellers don't make their services available to newer reddit users.

Do iptv providers usually keep IP logs?
