I bought a dreamlink last Saturday and I've been streaming using dol2 primarily, but today I discovered perfect player and tried it out. My question is why would someone want to get a dreamlink or mag 254 when perfect player works as well as it does on android? I mean I bought the dreamlink thinking I needed it to stream iptv, but perfect player works just as well, and you can run it on any android device.
I have an nvidia shield running perfect player and for me and the providers I use it didn't work well.
I wasn't able to get vod working, and also the epg didn't seem to be displaying properly. Additionally the catchup wasn't working on perfect player, at least with the server I was using.
Were you able to get full functionality mentioned above working with perfect player? If not, I think I just gave you reason enough to use a proper box.
My dreamlink is significantly better for iptv than my shield (and this shield ain't cheap!)
I do know some people happy with perfect player though.
Additionally being able to record on my dreamlink to external memory is pretty cool. I do it for some sports.
The mags and dreamlinks are both significantly more cost efficient than a nvidia shield. I can't speak for other Android boxes though.
I think the big one is that perfect player does not allow for stalker based servers. That means some of the best services such as ipguys would not be available to you.
You could however install stb emu and some other programs, but then you're back to running multiple apps just to get different iptv providers working.
The mag or dreamlink is definately the simple way to do things.
