[Q] Bought a Mag 254 and it works perfectly. Bought a 2nd for my parents and it's set up the same, but when we select a channel it's just a black screen. Any ideas on how to fix?

We've setup the portal correctly, I set it up in their house the same way I set mine up with their own subscription from /u/WSSPremium, I reloaded the portal and rebooted the device, and it pulls down the channels list, it shows what's on them at what times, but it doesn't load a channel.

On mine, when I press the OK button on a channel, the loading bar appears and it loads the channel, but the loading bar never appears from them.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this, as a family member is sick atm and I'd like to get it working for them asap because they'll be stuck at home for the next while.

That is super weird. Assuming you have 2 subscriptions to the same service you're right, you should have similar performance on both.

Can you try both boxes at the same location? Are you both on the same isp?

This may seem like a basic thing to test, but it would help us rule out any differences in network conditions ie throttling by providers etc.

If the boxes still do different stuff, send me a pm and I'll get you some credentials to a different server temporarily to see if that at least works.

You need to try to pinpoint the issue before you can resolve it.

Alternatively you should really be talking to the store where you bought the device if all else fails. They are under warranty.
