I had a bunch of family members sign up for fab and they got 3 and 6 month services.
They invested in Dreamlinks too.
Is there any downside to doing a chargeback to them? Can they hold my MAC address which are tied to the boxes? I know I can manually release them, but I have heard of horror stories of people not being able to get their MAC addresses released from IPTV providers. I'm new at this.
Your MAC could only be held hostage by them for Fab services. They can't stop you from subbing to another service with your boxes.
No downside to charge back a paid service you are not receiving.
Use paypal. I contacted Paypal and Fab quickly issued refund for not providing service, but taking money from my account. On MAG box you can set up 8 portals and can select which portal to start after you reboot. You can do factory reset and all data, memory will be erased from box. Nothing IPTV provider can do. Only pay 1 month for any IPTV service, because they can go out of business anytime.
Don't know anything about the MAC address side of things, but:
Doing a chargeback for an illegal service, will that work? If you're asked for details about what you've purchased (in Ireland at least, you have to fill out and sign a form to do a chargeback) I'm not sure the bank/card company will be too willing to help, and you can't exactly claim you bought something else from a seller called Fab IPTV .
