Simplest IPTV box?

by shaakzi

What's the most simple IPTV box you can get?

I need one which basically gets you to the channel browser when you start it, and you can zap through channels. No need for advanced features.

I think this eliminates Kodi and android boxes? Unless there is some other media center app you can download, which is more simple.

Would Mag or Dreamlink fit into these criterias?

Try MAG just for TV, then find a Provider that supports MAG service, simple and clean, unless you wanna die on crappy android boxes.

I suggest you to get an Android Box with Android TV installed on it. They are cheaper and better imo. Android TV is pretty straight forward, you just want to install Kodi and set it up the first time and then you are good to go, you can also set Kodi to open on start up.

we would definitely recommend the Mag box. They are based on Linux which are more reliable than most android boxes. So many manufactures are making android boxes but they work differently and some services are not working properly on some of them.

The Mag boxes would definitely offer you that simplicity you are looking for, once you have an IPTV solution installed on it. Do you already have an IPTV provider?

Otherwise, contact sales@tvboxx.com and we can help you with both box and channels if needed, Also depends on which channels you are looking for of course?

Honestly? A Fire Stick with your chosen IPTV's apk installed on it. It really doesn't get any simpler than that. And cheap too.

But I'm one that personally hates the MAG interface. I find it convoluted & it looks like an interface that a satellite provider would've had in the 90s.

You can try Easybox IPTV box . This box requires a subscription but its still less of a pain than searching for each of the matches online or paying tons for the channel through a premium cable subscription. It is super easy to use and I was very pleased.

based on your requirements just get a mag256. not going to get any simpler.

It's been said before but the MAG box is great for my parents who have little tech experience. The price seemed a bit pricy compared to something I could whip up myself, but they are incredibly easy to use. It does freeze every now and then (3-4 times a week), but a power cycle solves that.

Wow, so many responses here, and so many opinions that are so wrong. Lol

Choose for yourself, check out the video reviews in the sticky over at /r/iptvgta you can see the interface and how the guide looks.

Don't go on any words of people that just say "just get android".

In my tests, specs mean nothing and the operating system itself means nothing when it comes to iptv.

I hope to get some more reviews up shortly of the new AVOV devices as well.

In regards to the the simplest though, I would say Android tv is the least, and I hope to explain this further with my nvidia shield in my next review video.

Basically Android TV limits the applications you have access to.

If you want something that like like a real cable box that launches directly into the last channel you are watching you will probably want something like the dreamlink t1 or the mag 254.

The dreamlink looks very close to a satellite Reciever or cable box you'd get from your legit provider.

Without being too harsh here, do a simple search. Your question is asked on nearly a weekly basis.

Take your time with your decision, there's nothing worse than buying a box that doesn't suit your needs (in my case my shield with android tv)

I got a generic Android box and installed two apps to make it seem like a set top box. Perfect Player for IPTV and Auto Start to make Perfect Player auto boot everytime I turn on the box.

I also believe that the paid version of Perfect Player can remember the last channel you watched. Free version doesn't
