Hi all.
I have a Zgemma H2S with a good IPTV provider but thinking of upgrading to another box. Most likely Android or Mag boxes.
I am from the UK and VPN is necessary. Will VPN work on Mag boxes?
If not then is it better to get an Android box, like FireTV?
Thanks.
Here's a visual review about what I think of firetv boxes or other android devices for iptv: http://imgur.com/a/KA3DT
Take my advice with a grain of salt, because I'm a bit biased, but I just set up 2 FIRETV boxes today for a friend, and damn, if they weren't a pile of crap! (If you doubt my frustrations, check out the discord chatroom where I took out my anger on everyone in there :P
Additionally, I personally have a Nvidia Shield, and it also isn't very intuitive for IPTV. Yes, I have it running iptv and it works, but it is far from ideal. But, it is by far the best android box you can get.
Making the choice between a mag or android is VERY EASY. They serve COMPLETELY difference purposes and this question has been answered over, and over, and over, and over, and over again.
For full video reviews, check out the sticky in the post over at /r/iptvgta . Many hours was spent testing the boxes, and you can see the mag and some android boxes in action, and see what interface you like to work with.
If you want an android box, for google play store, rooting capabilities, plex servers, gaming, amazon video, or any official apps like hbo go or nbc gold etc, consider an android box (the shield is highly recommended and will kick the crap out of the other boxes you are looking at). You'll pay the price for it though (3x that of a normal dedicated iptv box).
If you want TRUE iptv, or are looking for a "cable company like experience", you will want to avoid the generic android boxes and get a dedicated box such as the mag or dreamlink, avov or smartvu, etc. Those all support stalker natively and you won't even know you're not watching legit tv.
I guarantee nobody in this sub has tried more boxes than I have. I don't have time to review them all, and reviewing android boxes is sorta silly since the method of accessing iptv are similar on all of the boxes (emulation or hack-job kodi addons that throw stability out the window).
Basically, you should ask yourself, do you want an IPTV box, or an android streaming box?
If you're a techy like myself that likes hacking boxes, rooting, running servers etc the decision is a little more difficult, but if you're just a person that wants some wife-friendly TV, do yourself a favor and get the proper device the first time around.
Now if you excuse me, I have to go tell my friend that his two firetv's suck and he's going to want to get another box lol
