I was wondering the same.
MAG256 will be quicker but you won't get the "full EPG" experience. T1 Plus with DOL1 is pretty decent. DOL2 isn't ready to be released IMO and should at least have been tagged a Beta.

I just got a T1+ (today, thx to Amazon Sunday delivery) and compared to my Roku with the m3u player or Kodi on PC or RPi, I can't believe how slick it is. The EPG is really nice, albeit a little slow to fill in. It automatically password protected adult VOD, which I thought was pretty cool. And it starts fast and changes channels pretty quick as well. I watched a lot of videos showing the UI between Dreamlink and Mag to help me choose, and the guide was the deciding point for me, but maybe it isn't for everyone.
I also definitely do NOT recommend the Dreamlink T1+ if you want a fast and smooth experience
