What do you wish for best IPTV experience?

by segaman1

I have tried many different trials and services, as I'm sure many of you have. I have yet to find an iptv service I would consider great. What would you wish for in a 'great' iptv service (within reason, ofc)?

My wish:

-150-160 popular channels max total - no extra clutter beyond that which could kill bandwidth of the host servers and bring rest of channels crashing down

-Stable, consistent streams with support for kodi+mag/dreamlink boxes. Some VOD and 48hr TV Catchup on kodi app like vader

-1080p on the more popular channels like HBO/SKY movies/TNT and 720p on the rest

-multistream option for $5 extra

That's it. I would pay $25/month for that easily (inc. $5 extra for multistream). That's basically IPGuys with minimum 720p quality streams. Unfortunately, nothing like that exists :(

HBU?

No mention of good and accurate EPG in your bullet list.

Just because only a very small handful of providers have actually managed to kill that beast doesn't mean you should be shooting that low ;)

It will never happen, not with 8-10$ a month subs. I would pay 50$ a month for a good Europe/USA selection.

Market need to clean up the re-re-re-re-sellers and steady up on a select few big boys.

1: An excellent Rangers TV stream.
2: All English speaking sports channels.
3: All UK channels (extra channels from elsewhere would be a happy bonus, but not required).
4: A solid VoD collection.
5: Ability to schedule recordings of shows.
6: Reliable channel catch up.
7: Obviously good quality streams as far as reasonable possible.

Using a combo of Smoothstreams and FABiptv I have had pretty much that (excluding the ability to record). Sadly recent problems have made that less true. But I've paid up for the next wee bit, so we'll see how it goes :)

Edit: I didn't mean to make everything bold.

lol this is a fun post!

But to keep keep it simple:

VOD like IPguys. EPG like IP guys. Quality like Epic. Combined Sports channels from Epic and Gold. An English channel line up like Gold.

Obviously no buffering or offline channels!

My wish is to record whatever you want whenever you want!

Check out gears okay and if anyone is reading this stop these threads there stupid

I'm quite content with Vader now, decent EPG, extensive VOD, matchcenter on Kodi, also the 3 multistream (although for same IP?). The only thing is the consistency, sometimes it buffers on big matches (eg first week of EPL, but second week is good), also some VOD and catchup is unplayable at times.

Haven't tried IPguys, do they have free trial?

  • Accurate EPG
  • I'd like to have only US streams or at least an easy way to sort so I only see US streams.
  • VOD is nice to have but I rarely use it
  • I have a 4k TV so hd would be great but not at the expense of quality. Honestly I'm sitting far enough back that I can barely tell the difference. I'd much rather have high quality audio

I'm pretty happy with Vaders at the moment. I guess my main wish would be for them to cleanup their channels a bit so the name and what the channel actually is both match, and either delete or fix the channels that are dead. Seems like such a basic and easy thing to do that really makes most providers look bad.

/r/Torula fits the bill.
