IPTV box recommendation for my needs

by phoneystoney

Hi,

I am new to IPTV, and have read many (maybe too many) comparisons and reviews of the hardware recommendation to use IPTV. Wondering if someone can advise me what suits me better for my specific needs.

Currently I have my pc connected with tv for Kodi or built-in TV's app for Netflix/Youtube. I have a 65 inch LG with WebOS, so not an android TV. I am mostly going to use IPTV for PPV or recorded shows/movies from the IPTV service. Narrowed down my IPTV service to Crown, but confused about the box. I will have ethernet connection so wifi is not important for me. Wondering if there will be any difference on picture quality with any of the boxes (MAGs/Dreamlink T1 plus/Nvidia Shield) on a bigger tv? I read a few times that emulators on android boxes can be jittery at times, was that for a specific version or is that common? MAG254 seems to be the most stable one from most reviews, but does it offer the best picture quality as well, compared to more powerful T1+ or Shield (considering the same source of course)?

If someone has done side by side comparison, that would be helpful. Thanks

I think T1+ is better just because it can support more codecs for VOD. As for the picture quality, there is no difference to me between my MAG 254 and Dreamlink T1 Plus

Get Mag 256 or 254 for iptv and Android for everything else. I have both and mag I use only for iptv, it is simple and it works.

Your TV support SmartIPTV app, get that 5.99 after a week trial, and do some trials here with providers check quality, channels etc. Enjoy TV, forget shitty boxes, life's too short.

You can also use IPTV on Smart TV with help of Smart app via SipTV.

It doesn't have to be android to be able to stream IPTV.

Stay clear of the shield if iptv is your main concern. Check out the video reviews by /u/stokedcrf to see the differences between boxes.

I have been using Easybox IPTV box for almost 1 year now. It's great TV box with more than 900 channels. Clear and stable picture. Their customer care service is professional, respond immediately to my inquiry and resolve my problem on spot.
