I have a mag 254 and when I turn it on I have to click on a category then a channel every time. I want it to work like cable where all you have to do is turn it on and go through the channels. Is this possible?

I'm not sure if this is a feature built into the MAG boxes, but if not you may be able to do it with a Logitech Harmony (or another brand) remote.
I have my other box set up so when I turn on the TV it automatically jumps into the guide a loads up a specific channel.
Just adding this in case you have no other options.
I'll do some testing today for you guys and see what I can figure out. I really thought that the MAG254 did this already so hopefully it's a setting
Go to Settings of the mag box and set the portal you want to be loaded on startup. It should start at the channel last viewed.
I just checked this out at my parents' house and the box turns on to the last channel watched. Which service are you using?
did anyone ever figured this out? i am having the same issue. i want the mag to go straight to playing a channel
+1, bumping this up cause I seriously need this to be possible for my parents. I don't have a MAG 254 yet but $80 is a small price to pay compared to the last probably 2 decades of overpaying for cable cause they don't like trying anything different and new.
