What type of sports streams are you looking for?
Most providers have SD version of a channel, test a few.

I've tested loads, current 1 buffering all over the place, but i could catch a stream fine...

Wow! It's not everyday that we see a post looking for SD. Do you have limited connectivity/bandwidth?
I haven't seen any "sport" specific SD providers, but I know ipguys is mostly dvd quality.
While it's a more of an "everything" provider, I don't want much tv other than sports and ipguys has had everything I've ever needed. I have switched to epic as my main provider just because of the HD though.
But, IPguys is super reliable even on slower connections and they were one of the few providers that had the big boxing match.
We weren't even informed that Ipguys were going to carry it, but all said and done apparently they had it without any hickups at all. So, that does suggest they do see the value in specific sporting events.
