Raspberry and IPTV

by sercai

Hello guys,

I am testing right now an IPTV subscription on my Raspberry PI 3. On my PC (with VLC) it works fine and the stream is smooth. However, on the PI3, the stream buffers first then works fine for like 1 minute and then starts lagging and the sound disappears.

I am using LibreElec on my Raspberry.

I have seen redditors saying here that their subscriptions work perfectly on PI 3. Can anyone please share with me what I should do to solve my poor streaming quality?

Thanks

Ive run on an RPi2 just fine. It might be the libreelec build. can you still install Openelec from the N00bs image? might be worth a try. Also maybe a fresh install of libreelec + iptv simple client, no other addons. Also have you OC'd the RPI. increase the clock speed and the GPU ram allocation from a shell raspi-config

hope that helps

I'm running libreelec on an amlogic s905x and iptv runs fine. If it buffers its a problem with the stream itself or their server.

I didn't have to modify the advance settings xml file in kodi for it to work.

For my HTPC (4GB Ram) Openelec setup. I had to modify advance settings for the FHD streams to work smoothly. I think I used this guide here to setup Ares addon that optimizes based on the resources available. https://flixed.io/stop-kodi-buffering/

Running two iptv services on libreelec 8.0.2 on Pi3 with tvheadend. All works fine, however sometimes streams jump back 5-8 sec. I’ve been trying to solve this for over a month
