Noobie with some questions

by who_dat_009

I have a chromecast and a pretty quick/reliable internet connection. A co-worker was hyping up Set TV but after doing a little searching I see a lot of redditors here aren't fully on board with their price/service. Can you please point me in a good direction? I mainly want sports channels w/o the satellite commitment, but I'd ideally just like a reliable service with a nice sports selection. Thanks guys!

Check out Vader IPTV or Smoothstreams.

You may need something more than chromecast for a decent IPTV experience. Your options are:

  1. Dedicated IPTV STB like Mag 254/ Dreamlink T1+ , Avov
  2. Android box with apps such as STB Emu / Perfect player or any app the provider supports.
  3. TV that supports SMART IPTV app such as LG/Samsung.
  4. Any other HTPC setup that can support KODI for M3U account using Simple IPTV Client or any addon that provider supports.

I recently saw a review and Set TV looks pretty good, I may check it out. They have a full app that does channel guide, VOD, and catch up, and the channel selection looks pretty good. If you're looking for dead simple IPTV it looks hard to beat.

Iptv and Chromecast is one of the worst combination. Get a box or even a cheap firestick mate,it'll do the job. Then try the different providers.
