$20 is a bit steep although I love there channel line up. I love having Music Choice and the Mrs Loves CMT and GAC. I'm not a fan of Kodi to be honest so something in Perfect Player with an EPG would be ideal. Any suggestions?

gears is 15$ https://hostingbros.net/acc/cart.php and that's like the same as any other higher end provider. if you want cheaper you will have to deal with the quality look at the sub 10$ section.
I believe music choice streams can be had for free. CMT I see a bunch, but GAC I haven't seen on many services.

Perfect Player is ok...until you start using a service that actually has cool and additional features like channel catch up. Which it doesn't support last I checked. It also somewhat negates one of Gear's biggest selling points too for that matter, which is that pretty and wife friendly EPG you get on Kodi or SPMC (I've yet to see PP run anything as well as SPMC can with an optimal settings setup too)
Vader is the closest match I've seen. At it's "catchup is broken/beta EPG is bugged out" worst it's pretty on par with Gears with some small trade offs being made on each. Gears is a little more noobie and "I just want to watch US TV" friendly with the better EPG, Vader has the more consistently reliable servers (you'll never see them take down the rest of their service just to accommodate a high traffic event) and offers multiple streams off the same account.
At Vader's "everything is working" best Gears really can't compete with them though, especially from a value standpoint. Heck, Target himself didn't even know what timeshift/catch-up was in one of his latest streams. As don't a lot of the people on youtube that you'll find hyping up the service. Which pretty much sums up why it'll never be the best he/they claim it to be. Add in the multiple stream support for those that might want/need it and yeah....it's not that close imo.
You also shouldn't be paying over $15 on either btw.
Gears is $15. Reloaded will be $20. If you can't shell out $15 for excellent service then try the free Addons on kodi
So saving $5 a month brought you here, while enjoying the current service you have?
