Hello guys! I have a MAG250 that I bought from AliExpress last year. I works good (not great) but it's decent. I'm thinking to buy a MAG256 instead of another MAG250, do you think it will be a bit faster if I buy the 256 instead??
Also how do I update the firmware version when using the MAG box? I do know that if I update the MAG250 I got from AliExpress, the whole box will crash and not work anymore. :(
I recently changed to a 256 from a 254 and its noticably faster at menus and channel change etc.. as mentioned though not all providers work well with the 256 so best to check
Aliexpress most likely snide Mag250 if coming from China, loads of fake mags.
Get a 254 from official infomir sellers,
if UK, use world of sat, HB digital (think they have amazon also, german I think)
I'm curious as to why you believe that updating the firmware on a MAG250 will cause it to stop working.
I have a 256 with flawless and tried others services it's been perfect.

That is sad that you have such experience with your last MAG box. I recommend you to try MAG 254 as this is a great product and working with good reviews.

Mag256 isn't backward compatible with previous versions of stalker so you just need to make sure it's supported. It has better specs tho so you'll see a difference over your 250 (I did when I went 250 to 254).
