IPTV without a set top box

by bgh1998

I currently sub to IPTV and have a set top box in my living room. I want to get the same service in my guest room but I don't want to have to buy another set top box. A friend says that he was able to get it working on his Android phone using an app he downloaded from the Google Play store.

What's the best way to get IPTV on my non-smart TV in the guest room without buying a set top box?

I do have a Google Chromecast, any way to get it working using a Chromecast?

Install GSE from the android play store. It can play on the phone, but also has chromecast support.

It’ll work but don’t be expecting the quality, stability or ease of your STB.

How are gonna stream to a Dumb TV without a dedicated box?

You can always buy an Android STB and throw on the apps as you need. But that box will turn your 'dumb TV' to a 'smart TV' which is cool. If you want some recommendation on good boxes, they speak about it in this forum quite a bit and have good reviews.

understood, thank you for all your suggestions. I will make it easy on myself and just go ahead and get a stb.

As far as I know, Easybox IPTV company is offering Easybox Multiroom to customers which allows you to own two IPTV boxes that can be used in the same home with only one subscription of $140. That means you can watch different channels in different rooms.
