STBEMU on Nvidia Shield vs Dedicated unit

by SgtEddieWinslow

Wondering if it would be worth while for me to change to a dedicated box for IPTV, or am I getting the same experience with my Nvidia Shield?

Only reason I ask, is my channel guide can sometimes get a little slow. Or if the navigation is any easier, or the ability to punch in channels directly? I seen how you can use them as a DVR as well.

I find stbemu works better on the shield. The frame rate seems to be a bit better/smoother and navigation in general is better than my mag254

Just sold my mag254 because stbemu works just as good on my Shield. The Mag can also slow down sometimes too. Save your money and as others have mentioned there are other options if stbemu isn't cutting it for you

If you find yourself using something that requires STBEMU in the first place then yeah, it's probably worth your while to just get a dedicated box (which is much cheaper to boot) just for the overall stability upgrade. Which it will offer (although the strictly speed aspect you are basically fucked on if the shield ain't doing it for you), regardless what a bunch of "I spent $200 on my device" placebo claims are saying otherwise.

But really, the better the question there is why you would even insist with using that emulator crap on a Nvidia Shield to begin with. Grab a Vader Streams sub (or whatever has your channels and a kodi/M3u platform), throw it on an install of SPMC (or even Perfect Player), and walk away from a needless battle you shouldn't be fighting anyway.
