DVR for Vader Streams?

by ghrayfahx

Is there a good way to DVR shows on Vader? I am currently using Perfect Player on my fire stick to view channels. I have an NAS that has plenty of space to store the shows. I’d love to be able to actually record shows that I’m missing while at work. Other than that, things have gone perfectly so far.

I just started using Vader’s from pm-club. I signed up for the plex service and all the shows I want are already there. Of course not everything is available, but I see no need to subscribe to the live tv service.

I did this exact thing and found the simplest way to accomplish it was by using LibreELEC on either a Raspberry Pi or an S905 Amlogic Kodi box. LibreELEC has an easy to install version of TV Headend that worked way better then when I tried to install on my NAS. The TV Headend addon also makes it much simpler to add the Vader Stream xml file to get the EPG up and running. You can also setup the recording location to be a folder on your NAS or add an external flash or hard drive to the box. With a Raspberry Pi 3 I was able to record 5 streams at once since that's what Vaders allows.

I don't know how much effort you are willing to put up but yes there are ways. Google TVHeadEnd for your NAS. Also, you will need to change player, some flavor of kodi would be much better. You could also try ProgTV and hear it allows recording but nothing fancy like a DVR.

Which NAS? You could most likely use tvheadend, or DVBLink if your NAS has those applications available to you.
