Noob Help

by Intellectual_Slacker

Hey guys was just doing some research on android boxes and IPTV services and came across this subreddit. I apologize if this is the wrong place for this question, I couldn't seem to find a FAQ.

I hope you guys can help me with some of your knowledge and tips to better point me in the right direction.

I am looking for an android box that can act as a mirrorcast/screencast. So that I can stream my computer screen through either airplay or chromecast style and also be able to use it as an IPTV device.

I have done a little bit of research and I was thinking of picking up the Xioami Mi-Box as my android box it retails for around $120 (CAD) and JLTVHosting as my provider for IPTV.

Any help would be appreciated including if you guys have any recommendations on better android boxes for better prices or quality wise and also suggestions on providers for streaming services.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I’ll second Vaders for the service. As for the device, I have a MiBox and it works really well. I also have a Dreamlink T1 and its easily the best IPTV experience. Running IPTV through kodi or an app like Perfect Player is fine. It works. The channels play and the quality is fine. However, an STB like the Dreamlink or a MAG box is a far simpler, cable-like experience. However, you lose the multiplicity of an android box. The MAG has no options for adding apps to it and the T1 uses android 4.4 so its limited.

The Buzz3000 has been getting good reviews and Dreamlink is coming out with a new box with upgraded hardware and android 7.0, so those are other options as well for you to research.

If you want something cheaper nexbox, beelink or leelbox boxes are all Android 6 or better. Need at least 2 GB ram for good performance, they all Miracast.

I've been happy with Fab and Vader recently, depends what channels you want though

Get a trial from the provider first. Most have them. If not I would be a bit hesitant.

Why not pickup used nvidia shield. It's around your price range. Also get trials like others recommended. I can give you some if you need it. Don't buy year sub right off the bet.

(Ilive in Canada as well)...Give Vaders a try, they're the best service overall imo and they let you the service with 5 different devices. They have 120+ CAD channelincluding local channels and sports channels..they also have channels from 20 other countries..You can also use the service in countless different ways (they have a website, an android app and you can run it on kodi or any IPTV player). You can inbox me if you need help signing up for it.
