I've read some comments here saying the 254 is better, is that info outdated? I also see that there are fake boxes, can I buy straight from infomir? It looks like they don't have it on their site, is there someplace I can get one from them? Do I want a MAG254 w2 instead of a regular MAG254? Should I consider a non MAG box? I'm currently using Kodi with a provider, and it's a little too unreliable. Thanks in advance.
254 is nice. I have a 256 and it works fine but it's not working great from some. Yes buy directly from informir. Stb emulator runs pretty well.
I have the 256 at home and it’s okay. Every once in a while it requires a power cycle because it freezes. I’ve seen the 257 is supposed to be their new box.
Never had a problem with my 254 to be honest.

Do yourself a favour and stay away from Infomir STBs. I have previously made the same mistake by asking your question and purchased a MAG254. I returned it to the shop to replace it with a decent Android STB.
The MAG254 is not only incredibly slow, there is no way to get EPG if your portal does not include it, some channels will have no audio, and it likes to freeze (requiring a hard restart) when the stream interrupts.
You are better of spending less money for an Android box which offers you tons of additional features on top of a better and faster IPTV interface. MAGs have literally nothing to offer to other STBs.
