Scoured the internet for an answer and even asked resellers of the various subs I've been testing. What I'm looking for is not necessarily to record shows, but I do want to be able to at least fast forward and rewind shows/movies in the movie club/VOD or older episodes using the catch-up feature of the sub. Sometimes I have to stop watching a live show, but want to watch again later without having to watch the entire show again. I'd rather FF to the point I left off at.
Tried out COD123 and Epic which allow me to do this, but I don't like the content/categories as much. I like Express the best due to the content, however, I can't fast forward or rewind with that sub.
My question is if this rewind/fast forward feature is sub dependent? It looks like it is? I've yet to try Crown and Voodo so maybe these services allow me to do that? Or is there a way I can do this with the Mibox settings/remote?
Am I right in assuming that if I get a box like a Buzz or Mag that I'll be able to rewind/ff/pause regardless of the sub?

You can rewind and fast forward in all the subs you mentioned above on VOD! I have a mibox, and love it but the remote wasn't meant for the IPTV Stalker UI. If you have an older Android phone then you can probably use the official Informir Remote app to use those fast forward/rewind/favorites buttons. If not, then the easiest option is to just get a remote from Amazon for $10 which looks like the MAG remote (or Rii i8+) with all the buttons you need.
Or you can go into STBEmu settings and re-configure/re-map your volume up/down buttons to fast forward/rewind.
