Not entirely surprised, I just wonder how much more intense the authorities will get in 2018. Looks like you can still purchase from resellers, which is a tactic I've seen another IPTV provider take recently.
I was kinda surprised to see one of their mods telling everyone to vote for ACE in the 'IPTV Reviews' Facebook group the other day (although I can tell she doesn't have the most brains from her English + restart your router twice a week/once a week bizarre advice)
From their Facebook page:
Hello A C E Subscribers:
It saddens me to announce this, but due to pressure from the authorities in the UK we are no longer selling new subscriptions. This obviously includes trials.
- WE ARE LEAVING THE SHOP OPEN FOR 24 HOURS FROM THE POINT OF THIS POST. IF YOU WANT TO PURCHASE, PLEASE DO SO BEFORE IT CLOSES IN 24 HOURS (8AM UK TIME TUESDAY)- We are trying to be as fair as possible *
I would like to emphasize: * ACE IS NOT SHUTTING DOWN * and anyone whom currently has service with us, will still be served with the same great ACE support through tickets. Existing customers can renew their subscriptions.
We will be closing down the Facebook page in a couple of days however. Support will again, continue to be provided through tickets ( https://ace-tv.co.uk/submitticket.php ).
Again, we are not closing down, and existing customers will still be served and maintained by us. ALL support however, will be through tickets.
Thank you all for your support; and even more for your understanding on why we no longer are accepting "new" customers.
So selling only through resellers, while that offloads you from supporting users directly and deal with resellers only, how does that make you handle pressure from "authorities" or make your service any better? And countdowns to hurry up and pay before we close, is just a little trick for quick cash before xmass. FUD.
