ACE TV ... The rumours

by fooali

Several months ago ACE were contacted by lawyers and issued them with a cease and desist on behalf of Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) also with the help and backing of BREIN . ACE don't operate in the UK but are registered in doncaster and they've responded to these letters by directing the authorities to their terms and conditions page where it states that "Ace Hosting operates as an intermediary to cache and deliver content hosted by others at the instruction of our subscribers"

As you can imagine this didn't wash with the powers that be but they couldn't locate where or who actually operates ACE in this country, the doncaster address is just a PO BOX. The reason why ACE is being targeted is that they have grown 126% since august just over 20,000 subscribers and as you can imagine this is a worrying trend for the industry.

Many IPTV services are falling some are barely staying afloat and resorting to asking for bitcoin as payment and we all know why that is. 2018 could be a pivotal year for all of them. its becoming increasingly difficult to operate in the UK with ISP's setting up blocks for EPL etc this is a huge market for them and if this is cut off then its curtains in my opinion.

So what now ... the pressure is mounting on ACE as with failure to comply can result in prison sentences or fines big enough to put them out of business anyway, OR to continue to ignore these threats and carry on.

ACE have decided to stop accepting new customers online now and have stopped offering support on social media but only through the ticketing system which isn't really what the authorities were looking for but it shows that they are being effective in dealing with this growing market.

Its quite clear they don't operate in the UK and non of the admin on their Facebook account are who they say they were anyway ( one of the main admins was a middle aged woman named Stephanie Jones for goodness sake )

Anyway to conclude on this and again this is just a rumour right now from reliable sources, ACE is still around for existing customers but for how long who knows. Its going to be difficult to run the service without new customers and simply relying on current customers and re-sellers isn't sustainable. ACE is one of the more reliable services i've used so its sad if they do go

Sounds quite logical but I still don't see how their change is going to appease these authorities. I really wouldn't be surprised most of the FB mods/admin accounts are the real people behind them.

However, the Stephanie Jones character that you mention was only a moderator anyway from what I understand. She used to moderate Fab IPTV or some other IPTV service(s). Supposedly she's from and based in Canada. She just seems like a bit of a FB addict offering fairly useless advice most of the time with very little technical expertise.

IPTV should be more discreet; too much open advertising out in the wild on this type of stuff..

End of 2018, there will be 4-5 big private/discreet providers, prices will double and hope we get a more quality service and market washes itself of shitty providers. I'm guessing a 20 a month service is acceptable with good FHD, no overselling and no crappy resellers.

More shadiness from ACE.

I recently had monthly service from ACE, that I let expire in October.
Now as you know this is only monthly and it is up to the subscriber to pay the monthly rate when due, as they do not automatically bill.
At the time , I saw the writing on the wall... a huge influx of new customers to ACE, as a few other providers dropped off and left people high and dry. With the ramp up in wide-open advertising, it was only a matter of time that ACE would be over-provisioned, and an unreliable service.
So I let my October month expire, October 28th to be precise.. went to another provider. Fast forward to this morning; I see an email from ACE stating the following: "This is a notice to remind you that you have an invoice due on Sunday, November 5th, 2017. We tried to bill you automatically but were unable to because we don't have your credit card details on file."

So, is this the case of ACE pulling some shady shit and attempting to really rake in the $ before the go under? Seems more shady that there have been reports of their admins really pushing the purchase of year-long subscriptions, etc..

Beware, if you have had an account with them, and are no longer with them.

Been with Ace for nearly half a year now. Barely any problems for me. Best service I've used. So they've stopped taking on members directly, moved completely to resellers and shutdown their fb page. Doesn't mean they've suddenly become shit or lazy. Many iptv services like Vader streams for example only run through resellers so authorities don't catch on to them. All IPTV providers bad mouth one another like anything else. I expect things will carry on as they always have at Ace with just more precautions now.

I don't know maybe if providers offered content at a reasonable price the way people wanted it there wouldn't be a need, but that'll never happen.

move to the dark Web? And payments via a choice of crypto like litecoin or zcash and verge easy privacy coins

BitIPTV

Yeah, i wish more people used Cryptos to pay for their services. (Anything but bitcoin though, lol)
