I work for a company that provides satellite dish and IPTV services. This used to be a fairly large organization, especially back in the day when we only had satellite dish service. We used to have over 20K subscribers. Since internet TV services emerged we have been losing customers to some other companies with much lower prices (they do not have the rights to broadcast the channels whereas we pay the tv network companies to obtain these rights). This is an ethnic broadcasting company in the US. We have our own servers in CA and we are trying to sign more deals to start broadcasting for different ethnic groups in the US. We are struggling big time; we used to make a lot of money on advertisements and stuff but we are not getting any of those deals recently because we have 1/5 of the customer base left. What I worry about the most is we will still be losing a lot of customer to illegal streaming boxes because we will be abiding law and others will find a way to keep broadcasting even if the net neutrality gets repealed. Our dish service still continues so if somehow nobody is allowed to broadcast over the internet without paying the big bucks to ISPs then we can concentrate on the dish service and things will be picking. Can anybody share any ideas about this? Do you think this would be possible?
