Best option for recording IPTV?

by G_Morgan

Hi Guys,

I've got an IPTV account with a m3u playlist and EPG hosted on the web. However Kodi's simple IPTV player plugin doesn't seem to do recording. I was wondering if there was some software I can install on my Neo U1 which handles recording.

TBH the whole set up right now is a bit clunky (Kodi takes a depressing amount of time to go from clicking on guide to displaying the guide). I was hoping to get something similar to the enigma2 boxes I've seen but with IPTV backing it. Seems like there should be a box somewhere I could shove the two URLs into which generates a proper guide and channels where 99% of the buttons on the remote don't actually exit the application. Any recommendations?

For recording try the new dreamlink t2, its super easy and works well. Recording also works on the mag boxes eg mag256. Also if your service supports it, consider using the catchup feature in apps like stbemu and perfect player.

For Android IPTV Extreme Pro provides recording, otherwise a Enigma box can handle multiple providers (I have 3 providers) with no prob, and timeshift and recording works.

The progtv app in the playstore allows for timeshift and recording
