EPG off by 5 hours

by FrenchSmitty

Hi everyone.

I picked up a BuzzTV XPL3000 during the holidays and I must say it's a fantastic box. I do have one problem however, my EPG is off by 5 hours but not on all providers. Let me explain.

I currently have 4 active subscriptions (IPGuys, EpicStream, Vader Streams and just today FabIPTV (which I understand is a reseller of Flawless).

On IPGuys, when I hit the info button on my remote the show information and next show information is accurate and also matches with what is in the EPG and at the correct time.

On Epic, Vader and FAB when I hit the info button on my remote the show information and next show information is accurate however doesn't match what is in the EPG. I have to scroll back 5 hours in the EPG for the current show info and next show information to match with what is currently/next playing/to play.

I can't seem to pinpoint if it's an issue with my box (wouldn't make sense since IPGuys if working fine) or if it's an issue with the provider/server (again wouldn't make sense that all 3 other providers are having an issue or would it?)

Hoping someone has information or at least insight as to what is causing this or why this is happening and if a correction is possible.

Looking forward to what you guys have to say!

Cheers!

Update : I've also gotten an Express IPTV subscription and to my surprise when I hit the info button on my remote the show information and next show information is accurate and also matches with what is in the EPG and at the correct time.

That makes 2 providers that the current/next show info and EPG match on the XPL3000.

What do these providers (Express IPTV and IPGuys) have in common? The only information that I was able to dig up is that they are the only 2 out of the 5 that I'm subscribed to that still use true Stalker Middleware.

From what I found online, Epic, Vader and FAB utilize Xtream-Codes which may be causing an incompatibility with the XPL3000 and other boxes (Unknown if affecting any other STB's). Either an EPG time zone setting server side that is not being correctly set or the STB software not adjusting the EPG offset.

Hope this can help developers make necessary adjustments or at least help people with XPL3000 STB's choose a better IPTV service.

I must say Express IPTV is working beautifully, channel quality is impressive (when compared to IPGuys) and catch-up works as designed.

Cheers!

Same issue here with Vader and Fab, thanks for posting that Express works correctly. I have seen this problem posted on iptvtalk for a couple of months and seems like nobody has found a solution for it. I love the Buzz box overall but this is a really annoying issue. The providers with Stalker Middleware generally don't have Kodi apps from what I'm aware which is a pain as that works so great in Buzz.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess that you're located in the Eastern Time zone. Does your STB happen to have an EPG mode setting? If it does, sounds like it's set to UTC

Was there ever any kind of solution/resolution to this -- or is the buzztv 3000 box simply unusable for some providers?
