Dreamlink t2 or shield

Don't want to spend more money than necessary but don't want a super slow box.

Which one should I get?

Shield is way overkill if you just want to watch IPTV. Mi box is as good and a 1/3 of the price.

I like my Shield TV for how fast and responsive everything is. I’ve tried other Android boxes and I find there’s a noticeable input lag for remotes, navigating through some menus, etc. Not saying that’s what you need, but I’m not rich, don’t use it for gaming at all, and haven’t felt ripped off or had buyer’s remorse at all with the Shield TV.

All three will stream IPTV the same, with that in mind do you plan on doing anything other than watching IPTV ?

Formuler is the parent company. I suggest the z7+

both will work well

I love my z7+ but I wish I woulda searched a little harder before I bought it for $230CAD from gfservers 🤣 oh well

Only problem with the T2 is it only has 1GB of RAM, so if you plan on running other apps or streaming 4K content, it might get choppy. Formuler Z7+ might be better if you want a dedicated IPTV box - has double the RAM of the T2.

As others have said, don't bother with the shield for IPTV. The T2 or the Buzz are much better options and will give you a much nicer EPG and interface, as well as the ability to record.

The shield wins though if you're an nvidia pc gamer (which I am). The shield is great for installing various apps and even using google home or other automation stuff. But it's not nearly as nice for iptv in my testing.

As always, check the various video reviews at /r/iptvgta in the sticky (although its pretty outdated now), it will give you a good idea of what your IPTV COULD look like

I have both the t2 and xpl3000. Both will give your near cable like experience with their respective dedicated apps. Both have good and bad things about them. You'll have to try out both yourself to see which is better. Personally I think the buzz has a slight overall edge but there's things about the t2 that I like more so I prefer that box better.

I also have a MiBox and you can get a $20 remote from Amazon which works great.

Dreamlink T2 is not a 4K/UHD box. Its still only output's at 1080P FULL HD.

Don't waste your time buying this box.

If you want a 4K box.. Get the ATV1960 Octa Core. Unless your set on 1080p. :)
