I currently have DSL Internet. I am within 2 miles of town so my speed isn't quite what it could be. In town people are pulling 15 Mbps while I average 8-10. Its enough but when I'm using 2 boxes this eats up all my bandwidth.
There is a wireless provider available now offering way faster speeds but it's capped at 250gb for the same price as what I have now (85). If you go unlimited they want 169 a month and that's rediculous. I watch 90% FHD or HD channels. Would 250 gigs get me by ?
I remember reading somewhere that Netflix consumption worked out to be around 3GB/hour for HD and 6-7GB/hour for 4k. Now, that's one of the most optimized streaming platforms in the world, so to be safe you may want to build in some slack and multiply it by the number of hours TV you consume a month.
If it's just 1 box you should be ok with 250gb. I have 3 boxes and go about 400-500gb/month with a 30Mbps service but that also includes youtube and netflix downloads.
I'm using SD services and my tv resolution is 720p.

Having been a cord cutter for two years now. There are many estimates out there. The new netflix estimates are way to extreme.
The one that I believe to be most true. Is it would take 21 hours a day of streaming HD content for 30 days to accumulate 1000 gb = 1 TB of data on your usage meter. This is for running only one device for that 21 hours.
We have two boxes that run IPTV and we also use netflix, hulu etc... Sometimes the wife leaves the tv streaming all day for the dog to have background noise.
My highest data usage has been 661 gb in December when we had friends staying with us from out of town, we were off work more for the holiday, thus the tv was on quite a bit.
We are normally in the 400 range.
For your first month to do not leave your streaming device on unless someone is watching it. Then once you start getting an idea of how much your using you can change from there.
Your lucky i get 6.5mbit with bellmts. 7mbit only option for my place just outside the city. The lte will have high pings if your or your kids are playing games thats 1 draw back to it over the dsl you currently have.
IMO it depends on your iptv provider as some have better quality which result in more bandwidth
It really depends on the size of ur tv...a 32 can get by with lower quality resolution vs a 50 and it's worse when you get a 60-90" tv
having 4K on a32" tv never made sense to me but on a 70" it's required (not mandatory as most iptv providers over most resolution of 1080p while most are 720 or below)
to give you an idea - my parents usually use up near 250G month - if soccer is on and they watch it on HD then expect 15-20GB for that day
they are not heavy users with 6-10hrs per day and more on holidays
250 for one box - maybe, two, add a few 100GB unless you can combine iptv and OTA

If you're pulling 10Mbps watching on two boxes you'll easily hit 250gb a month watching just a couple of hours a day. Most providers offer an additional 100gb for a reasonable cost though no?
