Does VPN improve routing?

by mrspeaker89

Sorry I'm a tech idiot. But if I sometimes experience buffering with a provider that offers numerous servers, and on certain servers this is apparently to do with "routing" - will a VPN fix this?

I've just got a VPN and even with it on I still get 50 down. I just seldom switch it on. Thanks.

No it doesn't, and if you run encryption on it, it can get even worst for speed and quality duhe to overheads of encryption/decryption. VPN is used only if your ISP has blocked your IPTV provider and you want to bypass the block through VPN provider. I have a VPN, I run it unencrypted for a couple of providers my ISP blocked, works fine but 2 others providers that are not blocked work better without VPN, not that VPN was meant to push IPTV anyway.

vtpi

Yes, it does, since it might take different route to your provider.

Routing will only give you a small delay whole channel switching if it's bad. I don't think it will cause a lag. The stutter you see without it is your ISP throttling you. VPN solves it by masking the traffic.

I must be doing it wrong, I haven't used a VPN for 10+ years of torrenting and still don't use one for IPTV either......
