You can stay away from Kodi, but at the end of the day it's still going to be the most stable overall option for any m3u based provider (which you are ideally using on Shield anyway). Plus makes for the easiest and least confusing (imo) transition from cable given the Shield's loading speed advantage over stalker boxes, and when combined with the ability to customize a custom skin setup to something even the most tech clueless person can grasp (my mom's box loads into SPMC with the beta repository Titan skin, where she's left with one clicking option to go into the guide stripped of the channels she didn't want, and another to go into VoD. Pressing down opens up the off option)

You obviously have to be willing to make a little initial effort on that latter though, of course. But yeah.

So I ended up downloading the Vader Stream app and so far so good (for Vader Stream IPTV service ) EPG seems solid and it would appear to have the full VOD selection , movie and TV section .

I have tried perfect player and it is working fine the only hiccup is the catch up which is a bit of hit and miss depending on providers.

I also have Shield and currently using IPTV Express on STBemu. Is there any alternative method i can use for IPTV Express other than STBemu?

I just use kodi and either fab or flawless addon, coupled with a vpn (I’m paranoid ok) I’ve had a buffer free smooth experience, I prefer it too that everything I want is within one app so I can go from IPTV to streaming movies and tv shows as well as the ones on my NAS

I use kodi...perfect player on every other android box. But the shield has issues with perfect play it crashes. Nvidia is aware of the issues and supposed to be fixing the issue. Kodi also allows you to sync the refresh rate and on large 4k and 120hz tvs is a big plus.
