VOD Format on Dreamlink T2 vs Mag 254

by ask1ngquest1ons

Hi everyone

I have used the mag 254 for the past 2 years and love using VOD. I use Vaders & Express currently. On my MAG 254 I am able to sort tv shows by type, recently added, favourites, etc

On my Dreamlink T2, I can't seem to sort by any of these options and it just gives me a few shows or movies and I have to search specifically for exactly what I want.

Is there something I am missing and a way I can sort by recently added and see ALL MOVIES AND SHOWS!?

Also, the VOD on Vaders has been an absolute mess for the past month or so and literally never works? Is this a known issue or just me?

thanks so much

In regards to Vader's VOD I'm having the same issue, I had opened a ticket with them about a month ago but only update I got was thanks for letting us know.

VOD on the Dreamlink is terrible to be honest. Its a horrible layout and never has worked properly with the search and category functions. Unless you know what you want to watch and just search for it that way, its useless.

Vaders VOD is a known issue that was supposedly being worked on. I have not seen an update from them, but they said a few weeks ago that they were switching servers for the VOD and it should be back to 100% by the first week of February. I rarely use it, but if you are having problems, I would guess that hasn't happened.

For Vaders, though, I recommending installing kodi and the Vader repo on your T2 just for the VOD. It plays far better and is far better organized in kodi than through the DOL2 program.

From the VOD screen, press the Group button on the remote to bring up the categories your provider has sorted their VOD selections into. There should be an 'ALL' group. From there, you should be able to change how the titles are sorted using the Green button on the remote (I'm not currently in front of the TV so I'll have to confirm this).

To echo what /u/manosteel9423 said though, the VOD section on any Dreamlink box is crap and for it to just be usable, providers have to basically design their VOD section around its awful layout and if they don't, don't bother. You might spend more time looking for a specific movie in Fab's VOD section on a Dreamlink box than actually watching the movie

If i remember correctly, you press LEFT on the arrow buttons and it will bring up the categories. I can't remember what categories were available as I haven't used VOD in some time
