Using stbemu on z7+ impossible?

So, I received my z7+ and while they are working on the EPG issue (fix in beta) I thought of testing stbemu to see how fast epg populated and whether recording is possible, as in mytvonline app. However, even though the MAC address is the same and practically the device is the same, none of my providers seem to work. Do I need to tell them what I want to do? Why am I getting blocked to begin with, since it’s the same MAC address and device and apparently not using it at the same time, since it’s impossible. Does the tvonline app register as a different device than stbemu app on the server end? It would be interesting to know, in case people want to try the same.

No reason for it not to work. Couple of obvious questions, so please don't get offended:

  1. Are you sure you exited completely out of the MyTVOnline app? Just going to the home screen doesn't close down the app, just puts it in standby. You have to exit completely. This could cause your issue.

  2. Are you positive that you have edited your MAC address in STBEmu to match your MAC inside the MTVOL app?

Other than those two potential hiccups, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

Another option would be to use a different MAC address in STBEmu and have your provider alter the address on their panel. See if that fixes the issue.

STBemu runs amazing on a Z7. Follow what was said below and it will work.

My answer pertains to the buzz which also uses a dedicated app. I've had xpress on buzz all setup. Then when I try to use stbemu it won't work as the account on the buzz is tied to the serial of the buzz. Even if I have the same mac and serial on stbemu it still won't work as it's tied to the buzzs info. That's with xpress. Might be different for a different sub.
