Just getting into IPTV, hoping I can get some guidance.

Edit: wow apparently this was a bad idea. So many PMs. Why is this sub filled with shills and spammers? Where are the mods?

I've just learned about IPTV in the past few days, and I'm really excited about it. I don't feel informed enough to do anything yet though; it seems like there are a lot of vendors and a lot of people saying that one is bad and another is good and there are a lot of contradictions.

I'm also wondering about how, exactly, I want to go about watching. I already have a Plex server, and I found this guide , which looks really good.

My main concern right now is finding a provider that's going to be reliable (I'm not concerned about quality as much; DVD quality is fine) and will let me watch multiple channels at the same time. There are a few people in the house, and I'm not sure how streams are limited by providers.

Any guidance you can offer to a newcomer is greatly appreciated! :)

I'm a provider of Ace it's one of the main providers I can give you a free trial but my advice is take as many trials as you can & see what service has what you want & with stable streams don't commit to a subscription longer than 3 months that way your pockets won't get burnt if the service goes tits up. That's my opinion on it anyway

I use set tv. I am happy with it easy to use and fairly cheap. Works great with a fire stick.

I got this setup, however because my internet connection isn't great here is Australia, all the channels i tried were timing-out and not showing. I will look at it another day though.

With Plex an alternative approach could be to use the IPTV plugin ( https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/83083/rel-iptv-bundle-plug-in-that-plays-iptv-streams-from-a-m3u-playlist ). Its pretty basic but works on the devices i have in the house which is Apple TVs and Xbox One.

With choosing a provider, there are a lot to choose from, i tried Smoothstreams last year and that has its own Plex Plugin. Currently trying EpicStreams using the IPTV plugin mentioned above which works great too.

Get as many free trials as you can, test every single one, Then when you decide to go ahead for a paid service only pay month by month until you know ur viewing is good, do not be taken in by suppliers offering fantastic deals for 6 months or yearly subs, you could spend £50 for a yearly sub then 2 weeks down the supplier go's missing. Monthly normally cost £8, times that by 12 and your still getting iptv for less than £100 a year.
