Dreamlink T2 User Here; Questions about PVR features and EPG.

by blackrain3

I'm new to the the whole IPTV world and I recently bought a Dreamlink T2 set up with a Gold IPTV subscription. I use the DOL2 app to watch my IPTV service.

I'm very happy with the subscription I have, but I am so confused as to why I'm unable to use the PVR features of Play/Pause/Rewind on Live TV. I've tried googling solutions thinking that I missed something in setting up the box, but I've had no luck in finding answers. I know I can set up to record some events, however, I can't seem to pause, play or even rewind Live TV, and that irks me a bit since I thought this set box was built to have those features fully functioning. Am I missing something or did something wrong?

Second Question: Also trying to get used to the issue that I don't have much information given in EPG with this subscription. Is this fixable client-side, meaning something I can do to get the full or most of the EPG available to me, or is it something my IPTV provider can do on it's end?

You have to plug in a USB drive or card to get PVR working. Don't message around with changing resolutions either as that can affect your ability to record.

As for EPG it's provider dependent.

Like was said, you need some sort of storage device attached to the USB to record or pause LiveTV. I use a 1TB HDD and it works perfectly.

As for the EPG, that will always be server side with the DOL2. Most services don't offer great EPG support. The best I have tried for good quality EPG are Vader, Fab, Epic and Ace. Give those a try.

Also, watch for an update to your T2 sometime later this month for an EPG that populates fully in the background on startup instead of having to scroll through the guide to populate it.

Dreamlink say they know about the EPG issue and are fixing it but they have been saying it for a long time so dont hold your breathe, makes u wonder how this stuff even gets tested before release?

A microsd card will also work as well. Maybe test with whatever you have lying around and if you like the results and plan to record a lot, maybe get a large external hard drive with or without external power source. When you get a chance could you please try recording a channel that has no EPG but do the recording at an advanced time? Try to leave it on the main menu, I wonder if the dreamlink is smart enough to switch to that channel at the specific time or do you have to be home to record? Thanks, the Brazil channel I'm trying to record doesn't have EPG so I think my only option is I have to be home to record. Much appreciated! If it works I'll get the dreamlink dlite.

It does a little bit of the subject, but I would like to know if the dreamlink t2 plays FHD channels well with 50FPS or 60fps, today I use my samsung 4k TV with Smart Iptv and play these channels smoothly, but when I try to play the other android boxes, mIbox and in Egreat A10, it gets very bad, it loses a lot of framerate and does not get smooth as in the TV app.
