I have my FireTv and its nice but Im looking for a better box that I can record with ease on it. Everyone and their mom tells me how much a beast the shield is and but there is also some strong voices for the Dreamlink T2. Which out of these boxes are better for streaming iptv and recording.
Keep the firetv use perfect Player and stb emulator for iptv and terrarium whatever for your vod
If you are looking for just IPTV even the T2 is probably too much box. The Shield is absolute overkill unless you are gaming with it.
Any Dreamlink device will record and timeshift (pause and rewind live TV). The T2 has a newer version of android for better support for kodi and other apps, but if you don’t care about any of that, find yourself a T1 or T1+. They’ll work just as well for basic IPTV and recording and save you some money.
Just get a mag simple interface easy set up probably lowest maintenance box and you have 7/14 day catch up if you have a good supplier and timeshift /epg
Dreamlink, formuler or buzz. All boxes will record.

I'm still using my 1st Gen FireTV with StbEmu, it runs beautifully. Keep it and just use Terrarium or similar for catch up.
Recording really isn't necessary any longer. Apps like Terrarium can access any recorded content at anytime. Most IPTV servers offer a minimum of 24 hrs catch up and also VOD. If recording is still a priority, then get the Dreamlink devices. Otherwise, get a solid android box and although the shield is overkill, it still is a great option.
