Problem is it's most likely IP based. VPN will for sure work. Smart DNS might work, but the problem with most of them is that they only have certain services you can choose from in a list. The only service I've tried so far that truly allows you to customize is DNS4me.net. You can enter custom domains to the list and choose the country. They even have a log that shows your request history so it's pretty easy to add a custom one just going through the list. This has FINALLY allowed me to stream freeview Australian and New Zealand stations here in the US.
I've had success with SmartDNSProxy , no problem getting the TVPlayer to work on my Android phone I imagine you would have the same success with your TV box.
Last time I checked a few weeks ago Vipsdnsclub smart dns service was working on my Nvdia Shield to access TVPlayer app from overseas. And no I don't work for vipdnsclub lol
PIA VPN works. The problem for me has been finding an android tv apk. I know one exists for the shield... somewhere. It’s advertised on shields site when you search for tvplayer.
I am not an affiliate or anything but smartdnsproxy.com has worked well for a long time for me mostly streaming UK content in the US.
