I am looking for a box to my parents. They are old and not very techy.
Is there a good box you can recommend where you just turn it on and go to live tv. No kodi or other things.

Roku is simple.
Mag 254.. easiest box to set up and use.
I gave my parents an TVIP-S v.412 and they can handle it very well.
I just did this for folks with the dreamlink t2. Super super easy. They have no issues at all and you can modify the interface to look like a mag if you want. I heard great things about the mag322 being very simple as well but haven't tried.

Essentially use the ok button or the EPG button to get the two different looks. Also a setting in the options to go between new and classic look
If the 512MB of RAM in the MAG254 concerns you, I recommend the Dreamlink Dlite. All of the simplicity of a MAG box but with the modern interface of a Dreamlink/Formuler box and the speed difference is definitely noticeable
MAG 351 is my recommendation
Give a look at formuler boxs. From what I've heard they're simple to use and reliable.
I've had both...although it depends on what provider you use ( I have EPIC) Formuler is the best currently. Albiet I use it with a beta firmware, but EPG and stability are best right now. You can also have this boot right into MYTVOnline, the Buzz cannot AFAIK. Formuler have been pretty good with updates as well. Hope this helps,
If wanting the box to turn on and go straight to live TV is a big deal, then the Formuler/Dreamlink boxes are the simplest answer. There are other ways with other boxes, but these do it pretty easily. Its a very simple box to use once initially set up, even for someone who is not very techie.
