Recording questions

I'm considering buying an Android based IPTV box. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Formuler Z7+ or Dreamlink T2. However, I have a couple of questions about how recording works on these devices (and others too).

  1. I am well aware that recording one channel while watching another is not possible, however is it possible to record something with the primary app (MyTVOnline) in the background and then watch a second feed from a different provider on a different app (like Perfect Player)? Will the boxes support two apps functioning at the same time?

  2. Is it possible to record from catchup in order to preserve a show beyond the timeframe of the provider's catchup duration?

using MYTVONLINE, you cannot record a 'catchup' channel. As for the multiple recording questions (i have a Z7+ box) between different apps i havent tried that before. What i can say is that i THINK I've read that you can use an app like IPTV Extreme Pro to record a channel and watch another one, assuming you've got a subscription which allows for multiple connections at the same time.

I wouldn't trust recording from one portal while watching another portal on the same box, if that's even possible. If your provider has playlist url and epg url, try this free Windows app it has recording ability: http://borpas.info/iptvplayer

App is in russian but has english controls so its easy to figure out. Then use your box to watch your other portal. You can still put playlist url on your primary box just don't watch it the same time as its recording on laptop.
