IPTV stream pauses every few seconds (PC)

by exweirdo

Hello everyone

So I only watch live TV for sporting events which is like once a week. I bought an iptv server and wanted to use it on my PC. I used it on Kodi and VLC. My internet speed is pretty good and it should work well and yet the streaming has to pause for half a second every 10-25 seconds (when it's on loop. If not it would just stop) and the player shows that the connection restarts. I noticed that the stream is a .TS stream like DVB. So I tried downloading the .ST stream and discovered that unlike DVB streaming, the iptv .ST stream isn't one continues stream but basically a bunch of small .TS files that are streamed sequentially. Is there any way to play TS stream smoothly on PC without these pauses?

PS. I tried different iptv services trials and it's acting the same. I also tried it on Android using Perfect Player and it's the same

Try using a vpn? Where are you located btw, if australia youre better off getting a provider that has servers close by.

Try connecting your phone to your mobile network and trying it on there just to make sure it is not your connection. If it isn't it sounds like it might just be a shitty provider. Can't see of any other reason an issue could persist across different devices and connections.

Is it all channels, just certain channels, HD and SD?

Have you tried to increase the buffer size? It might not be great if you're watching sports and can hear your neighbour when a team make a goal but it's usually a good way to get rid of the lag.
