Providers: Why no support for HTTPS?

by ipviewer

A question for you providers out there: why is there no support for SSL/TLS encrypted connections?

When using M3U URLs connections are invariably over plain HTTP. That exposes our login credentials and all network activity.

Is the overhead of encrypting all users/streams make it too costly? Or is there another reason for it?

We support http & https connection, up to user to select.

Just for you know, overhead is zero (maybe 0.0001%) for using SSL.

Xtream support HTTPS streams, and anyone can set it up. The problem is that, at least in Xtream, HTTPS is always on when you enable it, and older devices like AVOV don't support it.

Yes, better security would be nice!

Overhead and who cares for m3u user/pass, its not a ebanking credential, chill.
