Use ProgTV instead much better program, make sure your saving your recording on an external device not the box itself.

I'm bumping this thread as the same issue is happening for me, although it's with the free version of Extreme rather than Pro.
I'm using it with Android TV on an Nvidia Shield (latest firmware) and I'm trying to use it with Eternal TV.
It records fine when attempting to record a stream that's being watched and it starts recording a timer recording as long as the app is open, but stops recording shortly after the app is put in standby... or when the Shield is put in standby...
Similarly, recording never starts when the Shield is in standby and I get "Waiting..." as in the pic linked above for timers that should have already recorded.
My understanding is that the big benefit of Extreme as compared to ProgTV is that Extreme will record when the box is in standby while Prog has to be open... which doesn't work for me.
Any suggestions as to something I might be missing in Extreme's settings, or does this feature only work with regular Android and not Android TV on the Shield?
Or... is timer recording only available on the Pro version of the app?

got this installed .. but how in the hell can you select recording to an external usb flash drive or something ?
tried exfat32 , fat32 and ntfs .. still wont allow me to select it.
it will only show the internal sdcard of the box which only has 4gb room
not enough to record a few shows on ..
I guess I will have to buy a 64gb rom android box .. and just record to that.
I have an android box, use iptv extreme pro to record Eternal programs. I tried first time last night and it failed. Scheduled a recording for tomorrow. Can you check if the path is right? if not, what setup is missing that I have to do?
