streaming football on my smart tv is a terrible experience, what's the issue?

by i_Hate_us

jitters and skipping frames all over, my internet is fast and watching movies is fine, the issue is with football and other fast paced sports, what's the issue could be from, my TV slow processing? i'm thinking about buying a fire tv, or is it an issue with my setup?

subjective comment i know, but I've had a much better experience using a mag256 box verses the various players that support m3u - the reality is big games are going to suffer on certain channels so I tend to watch on alternatives like fox and bein instead of sky sports.

Re the fire stick, I use one on the upstairs TV using "DITV" which is basically a fork of STBemu, this software emulates a magbox meaning I can have the same experience as the downstairs tv, to be frank I notice no difference, it just works.

Some tv’s have a smoothing option for sports etc

It could be because you're IPTV service provider isn't streaming at a higher bitrate and fps required to enjoy sports. Sharing what provider you use could help us suggest something better for you. Also the make and model of your smart TV. What app do you use, etc...?

Just checked my LG tv, there’s an option- Tru motion. This optimises the image quality for fast moving images (sports and action)

I used my LG 4k for IPTV before I bought a mag 256 and found it a lot smoother viewing with Tru-motion turned off and set to game mode rather than sports mode but must say the viewing experience is far better on a dedicated box.

It's been my overall experience that although some TVs have some solid processing power, the external boxes are significantly better (usually). Fire stick is pretty good or you can try an AppleTV if you want a solid device. Otherwise I'd recommend getting an IPTV box, there's some good options out there

It could be an issue with whatever hardware/software you're using and not liking 60fps.. a lot of sports are in 60fps now and some combinations of hardware might have issues with that. Maybe that's why movies seem fine but sports have issues. If it were a load sort of issue you'd just be seeing buffering.

Hi,

What TV are you using mate? As the guys said here, there's usually a sports mode or smoothing feature around on your menu. That could help.

Personally I use a Firestick with our setup using Stbemu it just works.

I had this problem and it turned out my isp was blocking. Try a vpn. It fixed my problem.
