Does buzztv box use its own live app?

by kingflippa

I recently checked out a buzztv box and it's one of the best layout and most responsive I've seen. I want to pick one up but first I want to know if their live app on the box can be paired with any subscriber? I didn't see a way to configure the live tv (the box I checked out already had a sub) like let's say stb emulator is set up. So in short, does anyone know if the buzz tv live is their own guide app that can be paired with any iptv service? If so how do I configure the app like stb?

I use it with both Vaders and Eternal and have used both m3u link as well as MAC address. Not sure if that helps. I love the box for live tv.

On the buzz tv, they have a proprietary live tv app like the Formuler boxes do. And you can configure them for 10 servers and can change the MAC address. Much better than any app specific to provider.

I’m not sure any difference. Looks like there was an updated spec in 2018 with more ram. Other than that, not sure between the colors. It is a nice looking and solidly built unit.

In the live tv app, click menu and then settings. There will be 10 slots to put your server address if you use Mac or you can put the m3u url and include your password in the url.

I don’t recall. But if you can use MAC address, is there a benefit to not using it?

I need to say that I am wrong. I could have sworn that I initially setup buzztv using both Vaders and Eternal TV using the m3u link, and have since switched to using MAC address for ease of use. I just can’t for the life of me remember how I did it, so I’m willing to say that I could be wrong.

You better off getting a formuler z7+

I just got a BuzzTV XPL3000 specifically for IPTV and it works exceptionally well. The EPG is great and recording onto an external HDD is simple. Easy recommendation.

Thanks everyone for the comments and info. Definitely going to pick one up for iptv alone.
