Are We Spoiled For Choice or has IPTV become a Joke ?

by fooali

Every time i log on to this sub reddit i see at least 1 new provider trying to get its start in life. Its nothing great just more of the same things you've seen from 100s of other providers and resellers but with the promise of reliability and choice.

As with many industries as soon as something becomes lucrative it has the habit of becoming over saturated very quickly and IPTV is no different. I've been in this game as a customer long enough to know what i need and when to ignore the lure of buying a sub thats £5 for 3 months.

unfortunately this isn't the case for the newcomers and honestly the more i see re sellers and providers fighting it out for every last customer the more i feel this place becoming a cesspit. its embarrassing.

You can't really expect much from an illegal industry but we can all hope that one day this sub becomes a place where you actually enjoy reading the posts and not come across the 15,000th post about why there isn't 4k streaming.

enjoy your day

I tend to agree with you. It seems like as soon as one service drops, there are 19 of them coming out of the woodwork, then drop off after a month. There are very few reliable ones left. I am leery of those who constantly advertising their service here hour after hour. I feel the iptv game has been oversaturated at this point because of the countless Vader reseller situation and overselling their service. And many resellers promising the moon and not de livering. I have been burned by a couple of them on here. But I have two very reliable ones I sub at this time. Not sure I will continue with the IPTV services. Just been burned by it a little.

so i think its a double edged sword to a point, my point being, when there are only a few big and reliable providers, what happens when one or more of them get shut down? When there are too many smaller providers spam posting for your eyes, you get issues where its not easy to understand who has what, and you dont want to read it. Mods should be more active on policing things, because the competition is a good thing in general, but if its just shitposts for eyes and quick subs, its not going to get anyone anything.

maybe if there was a "registry" on the sub for the providers, or a wiki that they could request access to, which would list certain things of importance, maybe things like;

  • price
  • general focus (sports, indian TV, USA, etc...)
  • extras (VOD, Catchup)
  • access (m3u8, stalker, enigma, etc...)
  • links to channel lineups and sign up

this list can remain up to date, and can then be used by users as a "trusted" providers/resellers map. If a provider gets reported a few times of ripping someone off, or of billing issues, a note can be made on the wiki so that new customers may be weary, and if it continues to happen, they can be removed. I know the idea isnt perfectly fleshed out as yet, but it could be a start, but that is assuming the mods want to begin this and want to keep it updated etc...

You said it yourself. It's an illegal industry. I have no idea how some of these guys are still around. It's only a matter of time before the big boys start rolling the ball. Take it as a convenience. It's not and won't be perfect for a long long time. At the end of the day it's 10x cheaper than cable (which also isn't perfect)

This subreddit could indeed be useful if stronger action was taken against resellers. One reseller comment in any thread should result in a ban. They can spam the hell out of r/iptvresellers for all I care.

It took me 6-12 months of research and trying different services to settle on my preferred selection but I've been pretty happy for a while now. The best providers don't waste their time spamming themselves.

That's why I don't believe this sort of service will ever be perfect, if anyone actually tries to become the dominant service, the standard for illegal TV streaming, then all eyes will be on them. And I don't think you really want too much attention when you're running an illegal business. That's why all these little guys, the resellers, are popping up. Many of them probably just with new names, same people running them, with a different wallet. And while there are a few big ones, they probably rely on a good percentage of their profits coming in from these resellers. Obviously they don't make money directly off the resellers clients but that's the thing, profit on the side without exactly having to get their hands much dirtier. Maybe the originating service isn't that great to begin with, a reseller is a good talker bingo bango, money for both. It's a win/win for them either way. If one of the big dogs DOES try and setup a standard of premium service you can damn well bet everyone else will follow, but again with the money so easy to grab in this illegal industry it's not likely to happen that fast.

If someone is offering reliability and everything under the sun for less than $10, it's too good to be true. Unless it's limited to 1 screen or something. I just filter out those spammers.
