4K IPTV?!?!?

What do you say to providers/resellers that offer 4K and swear by it? I have a couple guys in my message box that say their provider offers 4K live tv and 4K VOD.

No such thing complete horseshit

Because there in the business of making money and no doubt they think it gives them an advantage over other providers, just because a stream says 4k or even 1080p it doesn`t mean it actually is

4k VOD isn’t unheard of but live TV just doesn’t exist that I’m aware of. At some point, some service will probably find a way to have a few 4k channels. It wasn’t that long ago that we were all saying 1080p didn’t exist and wasn’t realistic. Now, almost every major provider offers quite a few channels in that resolution.

1 provider has 1 channel, and it's a 25 mbit x265 European football channel out of Scandinavia. (don't PM me I don't know who they are or where to get it). Some might have 4k VOD, but it will be bitstarved to utter shit 4k. But no, no one has live tv except for 1.

Providers haven't heard of x265 (they have really, they just live in fear of people with mag boxes) and screw setting up one of these services from within the UK so don't look at me. It'll come eventually though.

There are many compression related reasons to use a UHD source and downscale to 1080p though.. Just throwing that out there.

I've seen plenty of x265 vod around that works perfectly fine. I ripped the series of P*** **** 2 from one provider in UHD and it's perfectly fine.

I doesn't exist. For christ sake, I don't even believe we have full 1080p 60fps IPTV real. Providers just raise the bitrates to the roof for softwares like Kodi show us the content is 4K, but it's not.

Thanks for reply’s. I was just looking pointers to prove these guys wrong. They won’t shut the hell up about it lol
